Policies

Thank you for your interest in The Loc Shop. We pride ourselves on offering a timely service that is heavily centered on customer kindness and making you look and feel your best. As a small team in an intimate space we've put these policies in place to ensure that your time with us is well spent.

NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS:

In an attempt to be fair and accommodate our guests:

All appointments will require a $40 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT.

We have noticed a significant increase in cancellations and no shows which prevents us from seeing those clients that genuinely want and need our services. 

If you cancel your appt AT ANY TIME you WILL NOT receive a refund of your deposit. Your deposit can be transferred to your very next appt ( one time transfer) if you cancel with at least 48 hours notice.  

CANCELLATIONS:

All cancellations must occur at least 48 hours in advance. We text and email to remind you of your appointment date and time. Additionally we provide you with options to cancel should the need arise. If you fail to cancel your appointment at least 48 hours in advance100% of the service fee will be charged to the card on file. Should the charge not go through you will be unable to book future appointments until your late fee invoice has been paid.

 

NO CALL/ NO SHOW

100% of the service fee will be charged to your card if you cancel the same day or are a no call/ no show.

 

LATE ARRIVALS:

If you suspect that you will be more than 10 minutes late please call (301) 853-7323 as we may need to reschedule your appointment or adjust your services. Keep in mind that appointments cancelled the same day (even if for tardiness) will still incur 100% of the service fee.

DISSATISFIED WITH SERVICES:

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your Starter Locs you have 72 hours to notify us for an adjustment. If you decide that the starter locs are too big, too small, too square, too round, or just too much, there will be a charge to redo the starter locs. We work with clients every step of the way to ensure the sizing is to your liking.

 

Traditional Loc Maintenance and styles have a 24 hour window for adjustments and redos. Redos within that window will be for the same style. Having the hair redone smaller, larger or differently is not a redo. That is considered a new style. Once the above mentioned time frames have elapsed, all sales are final and redos/fixes will require a full repayment. 

COVID UPDATES:

We no longer require guests to wear a mask (vaccinated or otherwise). Stylist will not be wearing a mask as well. We will continue to require you to wash your hands immediately upon entering the salon. If you or someone you live with is sick, under the weather or generally experiencing cold like symptoms please cancel your appointment. Please leave all of your kids, your boo, your homie and your "friend" at home.

BOOKING UPDATES:

The Loc Shop continues to operate as an appointment only salon. We generally do not accept walk ins or same day appointment requests unless our schedule permits.

At this time Freda is not accepting new guests. Nicole, Raye, Shawntice and Kerri are amazing stylists. You'll be happy to sit in their chair.
